19th Century African Trade Bead Bracelet

This striking bracelet is highlighted by four antique African Trade Beads. These 19th century beads were handmade in Murano, the tiny island next to Venice, Italy, and traded with Africa. So important was this glass bead-making to Venice's prosperity that the master glass blowers were treated as royalty...but were not allowed to leave the island state. The bracelet is completed with bright blue Afghani lapis.

This one-of-a-kind bracelet carries a long history and fascinating story and is a conversation starter!
