Gau, or g'au, are small prayer boxes that were used when Tibetans travelled and wanted to carry Buddhist prayers and relics with them. The front of this handmade gau is crafted from sterling silver and decorated with beautiful blue turquoise and red Italian coral. The removable back is also made of sterling silver and imprinted with a double dorje symbol, and can open to store personal items.
